Bono Vox, frontman of the legendary Irish band U2, attended the 72nd edition of the Berlin Film Festival, held in February 2022. His presence united the worlds of music and cinema, creating a special moment for fans of both the sectors.
The presentation of the film "Sing Street": Bono Vox and the band U2 were not competing for any awards, but they were present for the special screening of the film "Sing Street", directed by John Carney. The film tells the story of a teenager who, in Dublin in 1982, starts a band to win over a girl. The film's soundtrack includes some U2 songs, and the band participated in the screening, answering questions from the audience and talking about their connection with music and the city of Dublin.
On the occasion of the festival, Bono Vox took the opportunity to send a message of peace and hope, especially in a moment of great international tension. He invited the audience to reflect on the power of music and cinema to bring people together and overcome barriers.
